🚚 Special-Order Siding Delay: The First Challenge

The homeowner selected a specialty vinyl siding color that required a special delivery. We placed the order well in advance… but sometimes, manufacturers run behind schedule — and this one did. Instead of arriving in time for the original installation date, the siding showed up three weeks late.

By the time it finally arrived:

crews were rotating for Thanksgiving,
storms were rolling in,
temperatures dropped into the 20s,
and Hoffman Estates was buried under 20+ inches of snow.

Jeff has been with Cornerstone Restoration since 2006. He’s seen every type of exterior job, every weird roof, every snowstorm, every installation challenge Illinois can throw at him.

He’s also the guy who refuses to let a customer be disappointed.

So when delays piled up, Jeff did what Jeff always does:

He grabbed his tools, loaded his truck, and showed up himself — in the snow — to finish the job.

That’s not typical for a QC Manager. But at Cornerstone, we’re not typical either.

🧰 And Then There’s Octavian — Our Inspector Who Never Installs Siding

Here’s the best part:

Octavian, our inspector — who normally does not install siding at all — decided he wasn’t going to let Jeff do it alone.

He showed up too.

Fully bundled, knee-deep in snow, focusing on nothing but:

✔ doing it right

✔ and making sure the homeowner was taken care of

This wasn’t his job description.

But it was the right thing to do.
